Valve Selection Guide
The information that turns a valve enquiry into an actionable specification.
Start with the duty
Identify whether the valve provides isolation, throttling, non-return protection or flow diversion. Record how often it operates and whether it must operate against a differential pressure.
Define the operating envelope
Record the medium, composition, normal operating conditions, maximum pressure, design temperature and any start-up or shutdown conditions. A nominal pressure class alone does not establish suitability at every temperature.
Specify the interfaces
Identify pipe size, connection type, flange drilling, face-to-face requirements, actuation and available utilities. Attach the piping class or project datasheet when available.
Agree on documentation
State the required design code, edition, inspection plan, material certificates, test reports and drawings. Obtain written confirmation of the final configuration before ordering.
